Unfortunately I’ve had my last bad experience with wine and design. Mel, while very nice, was not a great paint instructor. We scheduled for the paisley painting (cat or dog our choice) and we arrived to realize that there was one of each already selected for us. When we expressed that we both wanted to do the dog, we were told that would be fine and she could quickly draw another dog but that she would be painting the cat. What was the point of us both doing the dog or even being given the option if that’s not what was gonna be shown during instruction. We were the only two there for that particular painting and then there was a couple doing their own freestyle painting. The class overall felt like everyone was just doing their own thing because nobody was painting the same thing except my partner and I. There was no detail about how to go back and add any designs besides the very last step with the dots which I didn’t even bother to do because I was so unhappy with the lack of instruction that I just painted my circles and called it a day. There was even a time where she pretty much demanded us to get up and look at each others work and I didn’t get up because I was So embarrassed about my painting and I wasn’t anywhere close to being “done”. Neither of our paintings looked like the original or the artists, and to make things worse we were given an “almost time” reminder and it was acknowledged that nobody in the class was anywhere close to being done. Two different locations and I have been unhappy with both of my paintings both times. I appreciate her trying to keep the conversation going but there was way more banter about our(her) personal lives than the painting and it clearly showed. I really wish I could’ve left a better review but I had to be honest.

Great atmosphere, warm and cozy plus you bring your own vino and snacks. I liked the option of following along with the instructor or doing it solo. Will definitely go back. Great date night outing.

We had such a fantastic event with Mel. We chose the paint your own option and we really got the best encouragement from her and are so happy with our paintings! Can't wait to come back to the Chapel Hill location!

What a wonderful birthday!! Briton ‘Bee’ was awesome! So much fun!! Daughter and I went to celebrate my 68th birthday… once we saw the precious turkey to paint, the deal was sealed!! It was just the three of us… it was a blast! Great music!!! This is my third time to do “Wine & Design” & I had the best time at this Chapel Hill store!!! Happy Thanksgiving & hope everyone stays happy, healthy and safe!!

Good location and class. Our instructor was great, but this piece definitely felt a bit rushed for the time given, and we struggled to keep up with the pace a bit, but overall a great Valentine's Day experience!

Aminah was amazing!! We had the best time at the Wine and Design in Chapel Hill. Aminah was a great teacher and facilitator! We will definitely come back to see her!
