The Most Bland & Cheap Food I’ve Ever Been Served

Okay so it’s a blindfolded dining experience, not in the dark per se but you will be eating blind.

The vibe was nice enough! The person hosting was reading from a script and would ask people to guess the meal.

Now the food: sadly the worst I’ve ever had. For me it was worse than airplane food, maybe like a bad airport lounge. It was honestly insulting to be served that in New York where you get some of the best food. I won’t spoil the dishes but they underperformed our lowest expectations.

If you like good food definitely skip this.

If you don’t care much about food and you want a novelty dining experience, you may have a good time!

We came to the event for mine and my husband's birthday in dc. I really liked the idea. But that's all I liked.

The price was pretty good at first, but then all the added fees and craziness got insane.

We spent 88$ a person. Then an additional 130$ when we got there.
. That's insane. Hidden fees when you get there.

You charge premium fine dining prices for a casual basic experience.

The light wasn't even dim. We paid that money for a blindfold to eat our food.

1 star review.

I am so embarrassed. We traveled to DC for THIS event! So underwhelming.

I had the seafood blue option.
The first course was underwhelming. It was arugula with one tiny piece of brie. The fish with polenta was actually very enjoyable! Seasoned very well. And the dessert was okay. I think it was too much on the plate, but good.

My husband got the red meat option. He liked the appetizer! Duck was nice. The main course for him was underwhelming. And the dessert was nice and deep chocolate flavor.

The venue was nice! Beautiful space.

The wine was okay. It was a little expensive, but nice to have with dinner.

All In all, we will not come back. The host "princess" was on the mic. If you want to do a microphone, do it last. Not in between each course. The people next to us didn't even get their food yet, so they yelled the entire time that they didn't want to know what it was. Makes sense.

I requested a partial refund or something to make it feel like we didn't get scammed. And all they said to me was "sorry. No refunds" ... really? Just terrible.

I wouldn't recommend. Don't do it. It's not like all the hype and. Its like the photos.

My experience with dining in the dark was fun and quite delicious! It was an interesting to try to guess what the food items were. I was eating couscous and I thought they were different tasting peas. It was a fun date!

The experience was weird to get use to but cool. At first it feels off to be blind but you adjust quicker than expected. My husband and I plan to visit this restaurant again but not as dining in the dark. The first course of dining in the dark was really good, the second was pasta with some meat which I felt was a little skimpy for the price paid. It also wasn’t my kind of flavors but that’s part of the experience! The dessert was very good as well. Looking forward to see what the regular menu dishes taste like.

Robbed of my experience.
We got into a minor car accident on the way to the venue and I called asking if we could reschedule. There was NO rescheduling and no refunds. So basically it was "Screw us and our hard earned, saved up, datenight money". I emailed the company afterwards only to be told the same thing, no refunds, and no credits towards another day of dining. Just S.O.L! SMH.

I love the idea and concept, but our experience was underwhelming. The food was good, but very small portions considering we spent over $300. I asked my waitress for more bread and her response was she wouldn't recommend it and said that she would follow-up to see if I still wanted bread when my main dish came around. I didn't say anything more because I thought her response was super weird and lo and behold, she never came back to ask if I still wanted bread. I got the vegan menu and my fiancé got the meat menu. Both of us left still hungry and underwhelmed for over $300 dollars. And each guest is required to pay $22 gratituity...not worth it.

Food was good but experience felt like “Next!”, very assembly line kind of experience. Not sensual at all, music completely off. Service was terrible, waiter/waitress seemed like they hated being there. Definitely not worth it. They could make it worth it with better management and a little more imagination

Overall disappointing. The concept itself was fun and different, but clearly the whole thing has been industrialised. The event space in Brooklyn (Leuca) was not well suited - a tightly packed cavernous room with no noise reduction made it hard to hear your dining companion across the table - at a time when you can't see visual clues to what your companion is saying.

The food was very disappointing. The appetizer was everything I had hoped for - tasty, yet I could not figure out what it was - my mind kept inventing possible flavor profiles and rejecting them. I was very excited at this point, and looking forward to the main course. Sadly, the main course was a sad ragu of ground meat with pasta - the kind of generic pasta dish you can get for $10 at any pizza place. No mystery at all - my tastebuds identified "sad ragu" in seconds. Dessert was the same - a pedestrian cheesecake with a fruit compote. Zero mystery. For the amount of money spent, I expected a LOT more.
